End of Support for INLINE 6 Datalink Adapter
Effective April 2026, Cummins will end support for the INLINE 6 and all earlier datalink adapters (INLINE 4, 5, etc.) across its diagnostic software platforms. The upcoming INSITE 10 release will no longer recognize or communicate with these legacy adapters, rendering them non-functional for diagnostics, troubleshooting, or ECM connectivity. A parallel change is expected for Guidanz Diagnostic Toolkit (DTK) v3.7, planned for July 2026. The final cutoff for any legacy adapter usage via the older INSITE 9.3 application is March 2027.
Key Timeline of Milestones
Why This Change Is Happening
INSITE is being modernized to a dedicated 64-bit architecture in version 10, moving away from its prior dual 32-bit/64-bit environment. This transition delivers measurable customer benefits:
INLINE 6 and older adapters cannot operate in this new environment. Although INLINE 6 possesses 64-bit OS drivers, those drivers are not designed to interface with 64-bit applications — they lack the true 64-bit application-level drivers required by INSITE 10. The INLINE 6 hardware has been formally obsolete for several years.
